To book a private tour, call the sales department at 802-253-5769. A private tour may be booked for less than 20 guests, but will be billed at $600* for a von Trapp History Tour and $400* for any other tour.

This hour and a half experience gives you insight to the truth's and imagined story lines in the Sound of Music and gives you an in depth look at how the von Trapps escaped Austria and ended up here in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. Watch a 20-minute documentary about Maria's last trip to Salzburg and if you are lucky, you will even get to meet a family member and hear what their experience was like growing up with Maria. By far our most popular tour, this does tend to sell out frequently, so we suggest purchasing your tickets in advance to ensure a spot!

Our Maple Sugar Tour is a casual, 1-mile hike around the property where you learn about our process and enjoy a tasty maple treat. Meet at the Outdoor Center 15 minutes prior to your tour time.

Book NowJoin our Vermont farmers on a property hike to meet our friendly Scottish Highlander herd. We have extensive history with this herd, so don’t be shy in asking questions. Come and see all the new cute calves in the Spring months! Meet at the Outdoor Center a few minutes early. Proper footwear and weather-appropriate clothing required. The herd may be located up to a mile away from the Outdoor Center depending on which of our seven pastures they are grazing, so it may require using your vehicle to get there.
Book NowLearn about our cute and friendly flock of Katadhin sheep, named after Mount Katadhin in Maine. Our sheep are on property all season long and love to be hand fed by our guests when they come to visit with treats.
Book NowJoin us for an early morning Bird Watching Walk with Karen Nielsen, who has 35 years of birding experience. Karen received a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology from the University of Vermont and a Masters Degree in Applied Biology, and teaches Ornithology for the University of New Hampshire.
Signup in advance is required by 7 pm the night before the tour and can be made at our Fitness Center.
